Evaluation

30 day project

Evaluation

This 30 day / 20 day project has differed quite a lot especially from my previous project. One of the main reasons I think, is to do with the fact that the project was such a quick project, it gave me the push at the start to come up with a concept, or idea, and actually go through with every idea, instantly. Obviously with the 30 day concept of publishing a piece of art work everyday, pushed me to be constantly thinking of the project and what my objective or idea would be for that day. Also with the focus on 3D and plaster work, gave me the motivation to produced more work, and enjoy it more. Towards the end of the project I became more and more interested in my grandparents belongings and old photographs, and decided it would be a good idea to make this a common theme throughout the rest of the project.

Some problems I encountered through the project where at the beginning, obviously due to the main fact of not having a set theme, it took me longer to come up with the piece of artwork, and in turn made the piece of a lower standard. Another problem, was that towards the end of the piece I had not fulfilled the full amount of days, of blogging and producing the art work, but I think overall the choice to concentrate on 4 final pieces rather than to produced more work that would lack the final quality my pieces retain, was a good choice, but did jeopardise the whole concept of the project. Overall I have enjoyed being more involved in my art work, and constantly thinking of how I can improve in a positive way rather than not looking forward to picking up my sketch book, which has sometimes happened in previous projects. Overall my time management has improved dramatically, mainly due to the 30-day concept, and I am please with the final outcome.
